
At 5,869 ft. above sea level, the City of Parker, Colorado, sits above the Mile High city in elevation and south east of Denver in location. In recent years, Parker has become a desired commuter town to the Denver metropolitan area. The town has a total of 14.6 square miles of mostly rolling, treed hills that give residents of the area magnificent views of the city and the Rocky Mountains to the northwest. Located in Douglas County Parker is served by Douglas County School District RE-1. The two primary high schools in the area, Ponderosa and Chaparral, have a cross-town rivalry and compete annually for The Pride of Parker trophy. Ponderosa usually wins, Ponderosa has better athletics; however, Chaparral leads in academics and is more developed and streamlined experience.
